Somatic Social Work/Psychotherapy MSW/RSW
These sessions begin by first assessing the needs of the individual, couple, or family and then developing a trauma-sensitive treatment plan that fits their needs. A combination of mind (cognitive), body (soma), and culture (personal values and experience) are considered and implemented in this offering. Examples of clinical psychotherapy strategies include:
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Trauma Education
- Anti-Oppressive Education
- EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
This structured therapy involves:
- Strategies to build safety in the body and soothe strong emotions
- Identifying a negative personal belief about yourself associated with a traumatic memory
- Identifying a healthier belief about yourself
- Briefly focusing on a trauma memory while also experiencing bilateral stimulation like eye movements, tapping or auditory
- Processing of a specific memory can happen between 1-3 sessions
- Processing of complex trauma history is dependent on the individual and it’s ok if it takes longer
Does not involve prolonged exposure to distressing memories or detailed descriptions of the trauma.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behaviorial & Mindfulness Based Self Compassion Therapy
- Designed to help if you suffer repeated bouts of depression and chronic unhappiness
- Combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness
- You will learn to understand, build compassion, and develop a new relationship to the parts of mind/self that often characterize mood challenges like depression, anxiety and emotional overwhelm
Fees & Policies
Therapy sessions are held virtually. The cost is $170 for individuals or $240 for couples.
